Handwash Monitoring Starts With Process Coaching
Operators are increasingly looking for data to set standards and drive sustainable behavior change. This technology follows Handwashing For Life’s Core Handwash, built on the base of the FDA’s Model Food Code. The system engages with the worker as they approach the handsink and a green light indicator to “Wet Hands” appears at the left side of the SmartBar™. The person is then guided by the next instruction, "Apply Soap”. This is followed by "Wash Hands”, a green light that is lit for 15 seconds but is settable to the operator’s standard. The "Rinse Hands” advisory is also by operator choice with 5 seconds being a common selection. On the right side of the SmartBar the washer is notified of a green light "Good Wash" or a red light “Rewash”.
The following of this process predicts the Quality of the hand wash.
The system also tracks frequency and all data is time stamped by handsink use.
